Volunteering
You have seen the images of the poor and deprived in the media, at school, and in your community. You have heard pleads of humanitarians on behalf of the impoverished. You may have even said to yourself, “I would like to help, I would like to make a difference in the world.”
We, at Student Reach, realize this is a daunting task as we have all felt the helplessness that you may be feeling right now. The good news is you don’t have to feel that way anymore! There are many viable and worthy ways that you can make a difference. Whether it is locally, nationally, or globally. All you need is determination, compassion, and a lot of hard work. Here are some ways to get started! If you have any questions, email Student Reach at info@student-reach.com.

Start a Program at Your School
You’re confident, motivated, energetic, and ready to make a difference in your community! Student Reach wants to support you and empower you to start a program at your school. It’s not going to be easy, but it will be a very worthwhile experience. It is going to take a lot of support, work, passion, and people to make your dream a reality. Let us help you by giving you the tools and assistance you need to build a firm foundation for your program. So whether you’re full of innovative ideas, or even just a little bit curious, we want to hear from you! Take a look at our Programs page and contact us!
Act Locally
Maybe you’re new to the world of social justice, and you just want to get your feet wet. If such is the case, there are many local causes, charities, schools, communities, and parishes that have programs up and running in your area. Many of these groups are dedicated to providing assistance directly to those in need in your neighbourhood. If you want to see the fruits of your labour directly, this is the way for you to do that. Here is how you can get started:
- Local food bank
- School clubs
- Check your church bulletin
- Check out the Youth Ministry
- Local parishes are never opposed to help and involvement from the community! And no, they won’t try to convert you. Your best bet is to try a local church of a Christian denomination (as Social Justice is a strong part of their doctrine), try Catholic, Presbyterian, and United churches to start with. Still feeling a bit apprehensive? Contact Student Reach at info@student-reach.com, and she’ll be happy to help you with some contacts!
Volunteer Abroad
So you’ve been dedicated to cause for some time now, and you feel like it’s time for you to do more, to go and experience social justice and change on the ground level. Opportunities are all around you, you just have to go find them! Volunteering abroad is a life changing and meaningful experience for everyone involved, but it is far from easy. It will be a challenge, getting there, working there, and then rehabilitating into society when you come home. You have to be physically, financially, and emotionally prepared for your trip. But you will never regret it, because you are changing lives! Are you ready to begin your journey? Or are you interested in researching a trip overseas? Follow these links!
