Over one million African children - one every thirty seconds - die of the disease every year, simply due to exposure to something many consider to be tiny, harmless nuisances: mosquitoes. Malaria, long eradicated from most of the world’s developed countries, continues to wreak havoc on economies, families, and individuals in the Global South.
