Although there is a great deal of bad in the world, there is also a great deal of opportunity. Students are volunteering everyday to make a positive and lasting impact in their communities, whether local, provincial, national or global. Let us continue doing so motivated by ignorance, not discouraged. Let us focus not only what we are fighting, but what we are fighting for. We must stand united to protect the dignity of life – for the grandparents, for the parents, for the children and most importantly, for the future generations. Each generation leaves a legacy on the world, whether it is of innovation, declaring freedom or of musical talent. In our generation, I see an incredible legacy in the making. I see a student outcry for sustainability. I see students demanding accepting and inclusive societies. I see students redefining civic engagement as global citizenship. I see students dedicated to social responsibility. I see students ensuring that positive change is at the forefront of our decisions. I see students creating a legacy of bringing hope to a world that so desperately needs it. |
